Care Home Awards

The Care Home Awards – celebrating the very best in the UK’s care homes.

The first Care Home Awards in 2017 were an unqualified success. The lunchtime ceremony, held at London’s Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington attracted 300 people who enjoyed celebrating the very best of what care homes and their suppliers have to offer.

The gold award winners for 2017 were:

Best Individual Care Home

Best Individual Care Home in a Group

Best Care Home Group

The Care Home Awards aim to establish the annual benchmark of excellence and innovation for UK care home management, operation and delivery.

This commercial sector is growing fast in the UK as the population ages and these new Awards will tease out brilliant examples of both care homes and outstanding suppliers to the sector, give them due recognition and celebrating their success at a memorable Awards occasion.

The Care Home Awards re-open for entries on 1 September 2017 and the final deadline date for entries is  22 January 2018. Judging takes place during February and March, with a short-list of finalists being announced as early as possible in March. The presentation of the Awards to the Winners will take place in May, at lunchtime, in London.

Care Home Colloquia

In December 2017 there will be three opportunities to enjoy conversations with winning entrants from this year’s Care Home Awards as the care home community prepares to enter the Awards for 2018.

The three Care Home Colloquia will take place during the first full week of December, just ahead of the Christmas season:

  • London/South East – 5 December 2017
  • Midlands – 6 December 2017
  • Manchester/North West – 7 December 2017

Each Care Home Colloquium will start prompt at 10.00am. Lunch will be provided at 12.30pm and the event will end at approximately 4.00pm.

Venues have yet to be agreed, but they will be announced as soon as each is confirmed. The only thing that will not change is the date for each event.  The aim is to spark debate: create the right atmosphere for a conversation. As a result, the room layout will be parliamentary, with two sets of seats facing each other across an open area.  A lot can be learned from companies that have entered and won awards.

The Care Home Awards celebrate innovation and excellence across the care home sector, including the care homes themselves as well as their key suppliers. Finalists, winners, judges, sponsors, media partner and organisers are coming together to enjoy a conversation about entering and winning a Care Home Award – from preparing a well-written submission, to those extra sparks of innovation that jolt the judges into thinking differently about a particular entry. In addition, there will be at least one presentation on a hot topic at each event, from which everyone can learn and benefit.
