Construction company Stepnell has been appointed for a £5.5 million contract to build a new care home in Devizes, Wiltshire.
The 80-bed home is being developed by specialist developer Brackley Investments for The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT). Work has just started and is set to be completed in the autumn of 2014. It will provide nursing and specialist dementia care.
Designed by architect Hunters and arranged over three floors, the building will provide residents with modern, comfortable bedrooms, all equipped with en-suite bathrooms. Residents will have access to a range of communal facilities including day lounges, a dining area, a tea lounge, launderette, a first-floor terrace and shop. The building will also feature staff offices and a laundry.
