Alzheimer’s Society is asking care home workers to complete a short survey to find out the challenges they face in dealing with the coronavirus health crisis.
The 11 questions include:
- Have you felt residents should have been admitted to hospital with Covid-19 and haven’t?
- Have GPs been reluctant to visit residents?
- Are you having to verify the cause of death because GPs are not visiting care homes?
- What techniques have you used to isolate residents with dementia?
The answers will be used to inform charity’s urgent campaigning calls to the Government.
Kathryn Smith, chief operating officer at Alzheimer’s Society said:
“Care homes have become the ‘forgotten front line’ in the fight against coronavirus. We are keeping a close watch to make sure the Government’s plans to help care home residents are backed up by actions and not just words.”
