Israeli tech company Essence SmartCare has won an innovation award for its artificial intelligence-led care platform.
The company’s predictive telecare solution won the Ibernex Challenge in Spain beating around 50 other start-ups from 39 countries.
The technology uses predictive learning algorithms and AI to learn behaviours and detect unpredicted movements of residents.
These include staying in bed longer than expected, leaving doors open and excessive bathroom use. Alerts are sent to caregivers when a change in usual behaviour is detected.
