The Not Forgotten, a British Armed Forces charity which supports serving and ex-service men and women, is holding outdoor concerts at care homes nationwide.
Named ‘Those Not Forgotten Years’, concerts will run for seven weeks until October. They will feature a set of popular classics from the 30’s through to the 60’s, performed by professional entertainers. Residents can enjoy a trip down memory lane and an entertaining singalong after spending many weeks in lockdown.
Following the current COVID-19 guidelines, the concerts will take place as small garden parties with tea and cakes, or with residents watching from their windows in the case of rain.
Brigadier James Stopford, CBE, CEO of The Not Forgotten said: “Sadly, events to commemorate VE Day, VJ Day and D Day could not take place properly this year, so we were determined to help WW2 veterans and those who have served their country mark these important days by bringing the celebrations to them.”
