Final call for Care Home Awards 2024 entries – special podcast

The closing date for this year’s Care Home Awards is the end of January, and the organisers can help care providers with last minute entries.

On a special podcast with Care Home Management (the event’s media partner), commercial director Helen Warrilow, development director Matt MacNamara and event manager Rose Freeman offer insight and advice on how to enter.

Warrilow says a new flexible Awards entry online system means care homes do not need to fill in all their information at one time and that the organisers are there to answer any queries.

“We want to help whether you’ve got a small question or a bigger question. Please just pick up the phone or send an email because we’re all really happy to help,” she said.

Development director MacNamara said the event has attracted many sponsors this season, but there is still a vacancy for a headline sponsor while some categories are also still available for sponsorship, including the wellness category.

Two new categories this year focus on sustainability, and care home development.

Event manager Freeman said so many care homes have great stories, and that entering the awards is great for a care home’s reputation and for staff morale.

“There’s a really specific story that I saw recently that would fit perfectly under the best for wellbeing category,” she said. “A care home brought New Year’s Eve forward for residents who like to go to bed a little bit earlier. They had a New Year’s Eve party, did the countdown and had a singer, but all residents were in bed by 7pm. They managed to have the New Year’s Eve celebration. A story like that is so special.”
