Data + analysis = outstanding

“Access to reliable data is half the battle won.”

That was a key message from an Outstanding Society presentation at the Care Show London on the value of data and its analysis in care.

In an update for show delegates, Katie Thorn, project lead at the Digital Care Hub said that 64 per cent of adult social care providers now had digital foundations in place, ahead of the Government’s target of 80 per cent of adult social care providers using electronic records by March 2025. She added that three-quarters of adult social care providers had started completing the Data Security and Protection Toolkit.

In a panel discussion including representatives from the Outstanding Society (OS), and suppliers such as PainChek and Nourish Care, Lottie and Camascope, the audience heard how data can free up time for patient facing care. OS director and CEO of Bracebridge Care Samantha Crawley said that systems that integrate with each other could transform the business. She said: “If you know that, for example, residents are refusing medication, you can ask yourself, what can you do differently?

“The key is to be able to access data and then interpret it.”
