How would your care workers like to take part in a new fundraising campaign called ‘Going the Extra Mile’?
Centred around the Kaido Wellbeing app, the campaign is being organised by The Care Workers’ Charity.
Carers and colleagues earn Kaido points by making positive improvements to their physical and mental health, such as practicing mindfulness, completing a virtual exercise class or gardening.
The challenge takes place between 20 July and 14 August and is sponsored by Avery Healthcare, Cinnamon Care Collection and Oakland Care.
To participate, each team should register at https://kaido.org/start/128637695 and nominate a team leader by 20 July. Once a team has registered, other individuals can be invited to join.
The Care Workers’ Charity is asking each team to set up a JustGiving page via the charity’s ‘Around the World’ page: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/cwcaroundtheworld. To do this, teams should click ‘Start Fundraising’ on the righthand side of the page, with a suggested target of £300 for each team.
“Our Around the World campaign is all about encouraging care workers and their friends and families to get involved in a fun challenge which will help improve each participant’s mental and physical health,” says Emily Barnett, partnership and events manager at The Care Workers’ Charity.
“Covid-19 has placed an immense amount of pressure on care workers up and down the country. We hope that this campaign will not only draw in funds to continue our work, but act as an enjoyable antidote to the stresses and strains of the current epidemic.
