Residents and staff at Castle View Windsor retirement village have recently completed a virtual Land’s End to John o’ Groats walk, raising £1,400 for the NHS charity, Frimley Health.
Walking or running thousands of laps around the grounds of the retirement village, residents and staff together covered a total of 899 miles.
The aim of the challenge was to get fit and raise money for the NHS.
“It was a lot of fun, and a great effort enthusiastically embraced by everyone,” commented Lisa Fisher, village manager of Castle View Windsor, “it created yet another example of the wonderful community spirit that thrives here.”

Ian Fairbairn, one of the resident walkers said: “One of the routes included walking around the Sky Deck, and it certainly helped with motivation to have such amazing views of Windsor Castle!”
Upon completing the challenge, each walker was presented with a competitor medal, and a refreshing celebratory glass of prosecco.
