Somerset care home sold to experienced operator

Specialist property adviser Christie + Co has sold Osborne House care home in Clevedon, north Somerset for an undisclosed sum.

Osborne House fell into administration in July 2012 and closed shortly afterwards. Following a national marketing campaign, the property was sold to Mike Slator, a care operator with many years' experience in the care of dementia clients.

An elegant and imposing Victorian detached villa with stunning views over Ladye Bay, just north of Clevedon, on the north Somerset coast, it has been extended by way of a two-storey, purpose-built extension at the rear, and provides a total of 28 bedrooms.

Mr Slator said: “We are delighted to acquire Osborne House and look forward to refurbishing the property throughout before reopening the building as a dementia care home for the elderly.”

Rob Kinsman, Director of Christie + Co, added: “We are delighted that Osborne House will reopen as a care home. Our marketing generated huge interest and this illustrates the continuing demand for assets in the healthcare sector.”
