CQC surveys care home staff feedback as part of new regulatory approach

CQC has opened a survey to inform its regulatory approach to collecting and using staff feedback as evidence.

Staff who may be more likely to face inequalities in the workplace are particularly key to this approach. This includes:

  • Staff from ethnic minority groups
  • Internationally recruited staff
  • Disabled people
  • LGBT+ people
  • People who have other protected equality characteristics and staff in less stable employment situations (for example, bank, agency or outsourced workers)

This survey focuses on what health and social care staff expect of CQC and any barriers they currently face in providing feedback, as well as how they can improve engagement with staff outside of on-site inspection visits.
