DHSC offers 7.4pc increase in care home funding

The Government will increase the funding for care homes providing nursing by 7.4 per cent for 2024 to 2025, in a statement increasing funding for care homes in England providing nursing care.

This changes the standard weekly rate per person provided for NHS-funded nursing care from £219.71 to £235.88 from 1 April 2024 and the higher rate from £302.25 to £324.50.

This rise follows an average increase in the National Minimum Wage (NMW) of 15.2 per cent from the same date.

The NHS-funded nursing care rate is designed to help to cover the costs of nursing care.
