Care workers launch their 2024 general election manifesto

The Care Workers’ Charity is calling on all political parties to address care in their election campaigns.

Following the announcement yesterday of a general election on July 4, the charity has highlighted four imperatives for political candidates:

  • Let’s Talk About Value Instead of Cost: Recognition of the economic and societal value of care
  • Let’s Talk About Pay:  £15 minimum wage for care workers
  • Let’s Talk About Pride in Care: Improved working conditions
  • Let’s Talk About Connection and Interconnection:  Foster a compassionate and equitable landscape.

It says: “The time has come for our leaders to tackle the challenges faced by the care sector. Together, we can bring about the necessary changes and ensure that care workers receive the recognition and support they truly deserve.”
