Hamberley unveils first of ten luxury homes

Luxury care home developer Hamberley has unveiled the first of a group of ten new homes it is building for Gracewell Healthcare.

The £8 million care home in Solihull was completed in May and has received CQC registration and marks the start of a rapid roll out of new buildings for the developer.

The team behind Hamberley founded Gracewell Healthcare in 2011 and these new buildings are the first turnkey developments that Hamberley has built exclusively for the provider since it was sold to Sunrise Senior Living and US health care real estate firm Welltower in August 2014, for £153 million.

The new care home in Solihull will swiftly be followed by new openings in Adderbury, Bath, Bournville, Lane End, Little Bookham, Newbury, Sutton, Sutton Coldfield and Woking.

Hamberley director Tim Street said: “The Solihull home, and the others in the pipeline for Gracewell, set a new standard for high end care facilities for the elderly in the UK.

“The coming year will be a very busy year for us as we prepare to hand over the nine developments agreed with the Gracewell team and progress our pipeline developments for new clients and source the next wave of land acquisitions.

“We are already in advanced talks with a number of leading providers and real estate investors and we look forward to providing them with the highest quality health care facilities.”

Tim, who with Daniel Kay, co-founded Gracewell Healthcare added: “As former operators we know exactly the challenges our clients face providing outstanding care and how the fabric and the design of the building is absolutely critical in the delivery of excellent care.”
