Job searches up as pay concerns spiral

Pay concerns are driving a record number of carers to the jobs boards, according to CV Library, which reports an 11.8 per cent month on month increases in CV registrations.

Average salaries in the care sector now stand at £24,182, according to company managing director Lee Biggins, who describes this as “a four-month low, following year on year decreases of 6.8 per cent”. The average pay for a nurse is now is £25,578.

CV Library says that three quarters (76 per cent) of care professionals feel they are underpaid.
