ADASS (Association of Directors of Adult Social Services) has published research detailing local authorities’ response to providing additional support and funding to providers affected by COVID-19.
This follows providers’ concerns that emergency Government funding has not been passed on by commissioners.
Key findings are as follows:
Payments in Advance: 95 per cent of local authorities stated that they are using a variety of payments in advance, immediate payments (within 7 days), guaranteed payments including day service providers who are unable to run services
Provider temporary cost pressures: Of those local authorities (LAs) that stated that they have taken action to address the temporary cost pressures facing providers, 97 per cent have provided financial support to providers, including emergency funds (30%); 10 per cent temporary uplift (25%); 5 per cent temporary uplift (13%). 16 per cent of survey respondents have provided a lump-sum to providers.
Responses were received from 89 per cent of local authorities over a three-day period.
