Learning disability and autism training consultation launched

The Department of Health and Social Care has launched a consultation to inform the roll out of mandatory training in learning disability and autism for health and social care staff.

The consultation is open until Friday 12 April and responses can be submitted online.

The consultation proposes that employers should assess the level of training needed for each member of staff, based on their role, and have responsibility for ensuring that training is undertaken.

Other areas covered by the consultation include:

  • The content of training
  • Mandating training and evaluating impact.
