A total of £1 million in funding is available to local authorities that use digital technology to innovate in social care.
As much as £100,000 each is available for digital projects that deliver one of three themes:
- Efficiency and strengths-based approaches
- Managing marketing and commission
- Sustainable and integrated social care and health systems
The fund, the Social Care Digital Innovation Programme (SCDIP), is managed and run by NHS Digital and the Local Government Association. It aims to build on the Local Investment Programme, which has funded projects such as home video-conferencing, voice-activated home support and electronic referrals for home care packages in Sefton and Knowsley.
