New bed from Easy Mobility provides more comfort and freedom to residents

Mobility equipment company Easy Mobility has teamed up with long-term care products supplier Invacare to introduce a bed that improves comfort and safety for residents.

The Invacare community bed has a hand-held ‘soft tilt’ facility which enables residents to re-position the bed themselves up to 60 degs.

It means residents do not have to wait for a carer to assist them if they are in pain or re-position themselves to prevent sores developing.

There is also an automatically-programmed option which uses medically-recommended parameters to provide the same benefits at regular intervals throughout the night to improve sleep.

Scandinavian built, the Invacare bed is of the highest quality and comes with thoughtful, luxury features.

The attractive beech-wood headboard is easily removed to enable hair washing, while an ankle elevation facility is standard and there is a dorso-lumbar back support.  The SB755 mattress can even assist with existing back postural problems and offers the unique “hug” effect to give dementia sufferers security and comfort.

For the carer, this system helps prevent kyphosis and other related postural issues, whilst the dorso-lumbar support assists patients with poor upper body function.

The automatic programme for turning means residents can be attended to by a single carer because toileting and other requirements can be clearly observed.

The products are supported by a comprehensive service plan and Easy Mobility can send a consultant to explain how the bed can benefit a care home.
