NHS contribution rises by 1 per cent

The NHS contribution towards the costs of a place in a care home with nursing has been increased by 1 per cent for 2013 to 2014.

The funding is for people in a care home who have been assessed as needing the help of a registered nurse. For eligible care home residents the standard rate rises to £109.79 per week. The higher rate will now be £151.10.

The increases are in line with the increase in NHS nursing staff pay of 1% for 2013 to 2014.
