Nursing regulator the Nursing & Midwifery Council has launched a consultation on new draft education standards for nurses, including in social care.
The revamp in the nurse training standards for specialist community public health nursing (SCPHN) and specialist practice qualifications (SPQs) aims to update standards last updated over 15 years ago.
The standards set out the knowledge and skills needed to gain post-registration qualifications and aim to reflect the realities of modern community and public health nursing.
The consultation for the new nurse training standards will run until 2 August 2021 and the consultation period will include virtual drop-in sessions, webinars and virtual panel events. Consultation documents are available online.
