It’s Care Home Open Week!

Care Home Open Week 2023 takes place this week, giving care providers a chance to champion their work.

Across the country, care homes are opening their doors to local communities to demonstrate the fantastic work they do.

Among those taking part is HC-One, whose chosen theme for this year’s Care Home Open Week celebrations is ‘Celebrating Together’.

Each home at the chain has been working hard on their plans for the week, ranging from community carnivals, parades and marketplaces, arts and crafts, competitions, raising money for local charities, music and entertainment, refreshments and a variety of other activities, with residents taking a central role in the preparations and celebrations.

Care Home Open Week is a national event hosted by Championing Social Care, designed to connect care homes with their local communities. This year, there is a Great British Care Cycle Relay where participants will be cycling and visiting care homes across the country, north to south until 2 July. A travelling ‘baton’ will be passed on between care homes throughout the week, starting at Chorlton Place Care Home before reaching its final landmark destination in London.
