OUTT app to create 5,000 new social care jobs

OUTT, a government supported digital recruitment app, is creating over 5,000 new social care jobs.

The app allows direct employers to fill last minute shifts or longer term rotas, providing flexible working opportunities for candidates in the social care sector. It also allows an employer to take on a suitable candidate permanently.

The 5,000 jobs will be focused around the greater London area during the first phase, but OUTT expects to expand their recruitment area in 2021.

OUTT allows employers to bypass traditional recruitment agencies, with more choice and reduced costs. All the candidates will be employed by OUTT under PAYE and able to pick and choose when and where they work, directly with employers.

The app offers complimentary skills training to support returning social care workers who wish to refresh their knowledge, meaning that flexible opportunities are available for those feeling the impact of the COVID-19 jobs crisis.

Steve O’Brien, OUTT founder & CEO, said: “Our initial concern was addressing the growing shortfall in social care key workers across the UK, then COVID-19 simply changed the way we all live and work. This allowed OUTT to embrace the change and fast track the social care sector into the 21st century.

“In addition, agency worker rights are too often tarnished with negatives such as workers charged for payroll or forfeiting holiday pay; this practice has got to stop. Technology provides social care with a transparent platform where candidates can take control and get the pay they deserve.”
