One of the largest independent care home providers in the north of Scotland has unveiled plans for two new purpose-built sites in Muir of Ord and Tain after securing a £5 million finance deal with Bank of Scotland.
The Parklands Group, which is based in Buckie, is working with NHS Scotland and the Highland Council as part of its latest development project to provide ongoing social services for the region, as well as private care for elderly residents.
Due for completion in May 2014, the two new care homes will accommodate up to 80 people from around the Highlands and create around 30 new full time equivalent jobs. The new homes will be built by the Elgin-based infrastructure, support services and construction group, Robertson.
The new facilities will provide 24 hour professional care for a range of needs. Nursing, personal and palliative care will be provided either permanently, for holiday breaks, short periods of respite care or to recover after a hospital stay. Specialist care is also available for those with physical or mental disabilities.
Established in 1993, the Parklands Group already owns and operates six care homes throughout the Highlands, providing 170 care placements and employing 270 staff.
