Care teams are being urged to consider signing up to a voluntary professional register.
The brainchild of the National Association of Care and Support Workers (NACAS) and Institute of Health and Social Care Management (IHSCM), the register aims to professionalise the care industry and align registration of paid care workers in England with other GB colleagues.
The organisations say the register will offer recruitment and retention benefits for residential care management, status for employees and reassurance for the public.
Carers and recipients of care are invited to take part in a short survey about the proposed register, open until Wednesday 30 November.
