The Professional Record Standards Body (PRSB) is launching a partnership scheme for care providers.
The PRSB exists to improve care by making the sharing of health data more efficient.
The scheme for care homes will launch before the end of the year. The PRSB wants providers to help it improve its suite of standards and develop new ones.
“The advantage of being a partner is that as a care home you will be involved in the development of standards. It is important health and social care data is in the right place when a provider needs it,” said spokesperson Annie Taylor. “This is all about improving care through the better delivery of information across health and social care.”
The PRSB plans webinars and masterclass workshops for care homes that join the scheme.
The body already has a partnership scheme in place for digital software providers which it says is benefiting care homes.
“Providers want standardised information on residents if, for example, a person is referred to hospital,” said Taylor. “Care homes need to know that the information they have is reliable and can be accessed in a timely manner.”
She added: “Digital transformation is so important for care homes and one of our roles is to help them mature digitally.”
