Social care directors call for change of public attitudes to care

Social care leaders will challenge stakeholders to change public attitudes to adult and children’s social care in today’s programme at the National Children and Adult Social Services Conference.

ADASS President Beverley Tarka (pictured) will outline that harnessing public support for social care, strengthening the care workforce, supporting unpaid carers and improving prevention are key priorities for ADASS (The Association of Directors of Adult Social Services) in the forthcoming year, and she encourages colleagues in the sector to work together to change public attitudes to social care.

Economic success can only be achieved by growing and developing the care workforce, particularly in the supported housing sector, ADASS believes.

The association also highlights the need to highlight people’s lived experience of social care as part of achieving sustainable funding.
