Scotland publishes medical team communication tools

Scottish regulator the Care Inspectorate has published a range of communication tools for care homes for older people. Produced in partnership with Healthcare Improvement Scotland, the tools support managers and carers to gather and pass on information to medical support teams, particularly during out of hours, when the person you are with needs urgent care.

The forms capture SBAR information  – situation – background – assessment – recommendation –needed by call handlers and clinical staff to establish the correct response for the resident. This is supported by new good practice guides managers and carers.
