Dulas Court, part of the Herefordshire Care Homes Group owned by Karen Rogers, has been rated “Outstanding” following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission.
It comes after Charnwood Country Residence in Much Dewchurch recently received the same rating, placing the group in the top one per cent of care homes in the country and number one Herefordshire. Dulas Court provides care for up to 31 people.
Deb Holland, CQC’s head of inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region said: “Our inspection team were impressed by the level of care and support observed at Dulas Court. People received person centred care that maintained their health and wellbeing. They told us that they felt supported to keep their interests and hobbies. The provider looked at creative ways in which they could recognise and reflect people’s life histories and interests.
Karen Rogers, owner of Herefordshire Care Homes said: “Our care homes provide a new and exciting model of care that is based on a belief that life in a care home should always be a great experience and a preferred option to living alone. People frequently say they wished that had come to live with us sooner, and for me that is what we strive for – making our homes great places to live and work.
“If you visited Dulas Court you would think you were in a five star hotel, we have so many options, fine dining with private dining. We have walking groups, bird spotting, a gardening group with a well-stocked polytunnel all set amongst 14 acres of beautiful accessible landscaped gardens. That environment set against exemplary care is why we are proud to have been recognised as ‘Outstanding’ again by the CQC.”
