Sunrise Senior Living UK and Gracewell Healthcare have launched a self-selection questionnaire for potential care workers.
Designed to assess whether a candidate’s values are right for a career in care, the questions are designed to allow people to ‘look in and see’ what a role in care at Sunrise and Gracewell is like, as well as the qualities they need to be successful. The aim of the questionnaire is to reduce attrition, especially within the first 90 days of joining.
Self-selection is used in a wide range of businesses and has been
found to significantly reduce resignation rates and improve the performance and
motivation of newly hired team members.
Questions and candidate feedback include the following:

One answer option: I think that as long as the residents are comfortable, pushing for higher standards isn’t that important.
