Sharps handling advice added to CQC FAQs

The CQC has updated its medicine FAQs for providers of adult social care. It has also added an FAQ on the safe handling of sharps.

Other FAQs in its library include:

  • Controlled drugs: pregabalin and gabapentin
  • Administering medicines covertly
  • Administering medicines safely via enteral feeding tubes
  • Administering medicines when a person is away from their usual care
  • Disposing of medicines in a care home
