Marisa Spice, learning and development manager at care home group Nellsar, has been given the prestigious ‘The Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Award for Outstanding Service’ for her contribution to nursing care.
The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) Awards recognise those committed to high standards of practice and patient-centred care. The QNI supports innovation and best practice to improve care for patients.
Spice was recognised for her high level of commitment, passion and enthusiasm for nursing care excellence and her outstanding contribution to both residents and the profession.
Spice’s nursing career began in 1995 and includes periods working in intensive care and abroad. She joined the a family-run group of 13 care homes throughout Kent, Surrey and Essex in 2013, since when she has delivered roles in operations and compliance before turning to staff learning and development.
Spice has also worked with national organisations to develop social care nursing roles.
