Scotland’s health and care partnerships promote staff wellbeing

The wellbeing of Scottish care staff is at the centre of Scotland’s Health and Social Care Partnerships plans, according to Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland.

In a snapshot review of eight HSCPs’ strategic plans and annual reports, the Alliance places wellbeing among seven key areas for development. The others are:

  • Early intervention and prevention by strengthening community supports and services
  • Increasing involvement of people with lived experience of accessing services
  • Improving awareness of and access to support for unpaid carers
  • Improved relationships with third sector and voluntary organisations
  • Human rights approaches to providing care, support and treatment
  • Supporting the wellbeing of the health and social care workforce
  • Integrated working.

According to the Alliance, further areas for improvement include tackling health inequalities, specifically among women’s, Black and ethnic minority (BAME) and Gypsy/Roma Traveller communities.
