An exclusive poll by radio station LBC reveals that the Government’s biggest failing during the COVID-19 pandemic has been its actions over care homes.
The survey, carried out by researcher Deltapoll, reveals that 85% of those questioned said they were concerned about the handling of the situation in care homes, with 49% describing themselves as “very concerned”. Some 81% said they were concerned about the failure to provide PPE to those who need it.
These figures compare to the 73% worried about testing failures and 64% with the reopening of schools.
One third of respondents felt Prime Minister Boris Johnson had shown strong leadership but only 6% felt Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock had been a strong leader during the pandemic. Labour leader Keir Starmer was regarded as a strong leader during the crisis by only 14% of people.
