UK COVID inquiry now open to consultation

The UK COVID-19 Inquiry is now open to consultation. This invites views on the Government’s handling of COVID-19 and the lessons for the future.

For the care sector, the draft terms of reference for the COVID-19 Public Inquiry cover management of the pandemic in care homes and other care settings, including infection prevention and control, the transfer of residents to or from homes, treatment and care of residents, restrictions on visiting, and changes to inspections

Other aspects cover the public health response, including how and when decisions were made; how the NHS and wider health and social care system responded, including issues or capacity and resilience; and the economic response.

The inquiry will be chaired by Baroness Hallett.

Consultation is online until  Thursday 7 April 2022 at 23:59.
