Vivaldi Social Care gains funding and approval for 500-home IPC research project

Vivaldi Social Care has gained ethical and governance approvals and secured pilot funding from UKHSA after 18 months of collaborative work.

Vivaldi Social Care is a data-led research project led by social care, for social care. Vivaldi’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people living, visiting, and working in care homes while reducing the risk of infections and avoiding hospital admissions.

Vivaldi Social Care follows on from the original Vivaldi study set up as a response to Covid infection in care homes, and to build an evidence base for measures to protect staff and residents from infection, and limit spread.

The Vivaldi Social Care pilot will involve 500 of the 800 care homes onboard with the study.

Zoe Fry, director of The Outstanding Society, said: “This initiative seeks to investigate strategies for minimising infections and enhancing the overall quality of life within these care settings. The collection of data plays a pivotal role in driving positive transformation.”
